Metro/Train

Barcelona is very well connected through a network of metro and train lines, as well as bus service. There are six metro lines covering most of the city. The system runs on time, cars are clean and stations are easily identifiable. The FGC train system connects with higher zones of the city and suburban areas. There is also an open railway system called tram, which operates in several areas.

Weather

Return to Menu

Barcelona generally enjoys pleasant weather most of the year.

The highest temperatures 30°C (86F) - 34°C (95F) are experienced between July and September. August is also the peak time for summer vacation. Many businesses shut down, locals leave and most beaches are unbearably crowded.

Spring and Fall seasons are quite enjoyable with temperatures between 12°C and 20°C. December through February can get a little colder, minimum temperatures reaching down to 5°C or 6°C. Many visitors are surprised to find that Barcelona does have a cold season, especially indoors, as many of the older buildings are not properly insulated for extreme temperatures.
